For the last 12 years, my sister Kristyn has been in an awakened vegetative state. This means she has been completely bed bound, unable to speak, move, or eat, but still aware of her surroundings. My mom has been her primary caregiver for 11 of those years, showing unwavering love and dedication every single day. Two days ago, Kristyn was taken to our local hospital, where she was officially diagnosed with metastatic cancer of the colon, liver, and bone. She is in ICU in Vegas and we received the heartbreaking news that she will be moved to inpatient hospice, and when the time comes, she will be taken off the ventilator.

This is an incredibly difficult time for our family. In the last year and a half alone, we have faced the loss of another sibling, and now my mom is preparing to say goodbye to another of her babies. The emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. We are raising funds to help cover Kristyn's cremation expenses and to relieve my mom of the financial burden that comes with saying goodbye. To be able to support her through this and take away even a small part of her worries would mean the world to us.
