Help Support Kristin’s Fight Against Breast & Thyroid Cancer

In the fall of 2024, our dear friend Kristin Schlesinger received the devastating diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma and thyroid cancer. A single mother to two amazing kids—Lily (13) and Jack (9)—Kristin has faced this journey with courage, grace, and determination.

Over the past ten months, Kristin has endured:

A total mastectomy,

Placement of a chemo port,

A thyroidectomy,

18 rounds of chemotherapy,

15 rounds of radiation.

And her fight is not over. In the coming months, she faces another reconstruction surgery and ongoing PET scans to monitor for any spread of cancer to other organs.

Despite these enormous challenges, Kristin remains a force of nature—kind, strong, and always willing to share her knowledge. For over a decade, she has built a career as a successful Real Estate Broker, mentoring others and serving her clients with heart. Yet, between her divorce, her treatments, and her need to step back from real estate, the financial strain has been immense.

Her kids are her greatest joy and motivation:

Jack plays soccer with the Plainfield Optimists Club and dreams of becoming a famous YouTuber with his infectious humor.

Lily is active in show choir at Plainfield Middle School and is already writing her own book, pairing her artistic drawings with a gift for storytelling.

Kristin’s diagnosis has deepened her empathy for others facing medical struggles, especially parents trying to shield their children from worry. Her wish now is to return her family to a sense of stability and normalcy while continuing her recovery.
