Support for Kristin McKibbage Family

On Thursday July 25th, the home and all belongings of my sister (Kristin McKibbage) were destroyed by fire and smoke damage. She and her 2 daughters also lost all 6 of their beloved pets to smoke inhalation: pups Kita and Mikko, 14-year old cats Onyx and Mischa, and 1-year old kitties Luna and Misty. Kristin is extremely grateful for the efforts of the Superior Fire Department firefighters and first responders who helped at the scene. They did all they could to save Luna and Misty, who were not breathing when removed from the house.

In addition to this devastating loss, Kristin is now facing a battle with homeowners insurance due to policy cancellations and changes in recent months.

My sister prefers not to ask for help, but this heartbreaking loss is going to exact an emotional toll that she and her girls are wholly unprepared for. Besides losing their precious pets, all of their clothes and bedding, Paige’s books and toys, and 50 years worth of family photographs (Kristin was the keeper of these things) are gone. 

I’m asking for any support you can give. Prayers and shares are as important as dollars and cents. I’ve watched Kristin give and give her whole life. Please keep them in your thoughts, and reach out in the days ahead if you are able. THANK YOU so much.
