Support For Kristen's Fight Against Cancer

Calling on Kristen's Colon-y for support.

 

Our dear Kristen was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in January 2022. Her cancer journey was very unexpected and her treatments began very quickly. She had surgery in February in which sections of her colon were removed. Luckily, the cancer did not spread to other parts of her body. She began intensive chemotherapy treatments in March and the treatments are expected to take place for 3-6 months depending on how her body responds. As a result, Kristen's fight against cancer has caused her to go on unpaid medical leave from her job. While she is trying her best to support her family, financially, it has become heavy on the family.

In March, right before Kristen was to begin chemotherapy, their dog, Stella, had an accident. Stella was running around the backyard when her lead became wrapped around her leg. The lead was wrapped so tightly around her leg that her leg was cut to the bone, which resulted in Stella's leg amputation. Since that time, Stella has had complications medically, which has resulted in high vet and hospital bills.

 

I am very hopeful that as a colon-y, we can help Kristen and her family decrease the financial burden as Kristen continues her fight with cancer and conquer this difficult chapter of life.
