Support For Kris and Noel Stein
November 11, 2020, Kris Stein went to the emergency room with extreme stomach pains. This trip follows a year of doctor visits, pain and the frustrations of dealing with unknown ailments.
After a few tests in the emergency room, Kris was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer!
Historically, patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer have been considered incurable and rarely survived more than a year. However, with newer treatments, some patients are surviving 2 - 5 years and longer and can experience improved quality of life. The management of stage IV pancreatic cancer is focused on reducing pain, maintaining nutrition and prolonging survival.
As devastating as this diagnosis sounds and is, it is Kris’ unwavering spirituality and devotion to her faith in God that has given her the strength and courage she needs.
Through it all and through most of the past 30+ years, Noel has been her partner and soulmate who has been by her side to support her unconditionally.
He will stay with her and help with her care and comfort. Both he and Kris are self-employed and will not have any income coming in for the foreseeable future.
Through the duration of her battle, Kris will require in-home care due to the concerns of COVID-19 and for comfort.
Kris and Noel became our close family friends six years ago. We’ve gotten to know them as river loving, folks who love fun in the sun and time with family and friends. Kris has this subtle southern drawl from her time living in the South that I love. She jumps at the chance to spoil her grandkids. And is known as the glue that binds her family together. Her smile is big and beautiful but not nearly as big as her heart!
As they would never ask for themselves, I am honored to ask for help on their behalf. Please donate what you can and help Kris and Noel with this huge economic burden that they face.
