Kosta was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in early December of 2025– after an emergent visit to the hospital for pneumonia. He wasn’t big on going to the doctor and very rarely sought care unless he had no other choice. The disease come on quietly and slowly consumed him in ways you’d easily brush off and chalk up to age. There were signs but the days went on without saying “take care of this now”.
The cancer was too aggressive and he passed around 11:30 am on 1/30/2026 with family by his side until the very end. We are grateful to have been there as he moved on. We are grateful he is no longer suffering. And we are grateful for the precious time we were allotted in the end. But we remain devastated.
There are substantial costs associated with the passing of a loved one. Those needs are in process… and so we are now shifting this budget toward supporting Carly through the medical side of this process to the end-of-life wishes.
Thank you again to everyone that has reached out, donated, shared, and supported our family.
We appreciate you all more than you realize.
