Kobi’s story
Charli & Taylor dropped their son at football training 6 weeks ago, like they had done a million times before, with no idea their lives were about to change.
While training, Kobi had chest pain, so his parents took him to the Collie Hospital for review.
An hour later, they received a call from the Doctor, saying they can see a shadow on his Xray and requesting they present to Bunbury Hospital immediately for a CT Scan.
They have not left Hospital/Ronald McDonald house since
Kobi was transferred to Perth Children’s Hospital due to a mass found near his heart. Doctors performed a key hole biopsy - but they couldn’t make a diagnosis, he had a PET scan, followed by another operation, to take a bigger portion of the mass.
After 5 long weeks of waiting in hospital, Kobi has been diagnosed with THYMOMA, a very rare cancer of the thymus. Doctors telling the family, there are only 67 other cases in the world.
So what happens now, Kobi will be having another operation this week, doctors will open his chest and try to remove the whole mass. If they can not remove the whole mass (and maybe even if they do) Kobi will need to have Chemo and Radiation therapy.
Kobi, his parents & siblings remain positive and ready for this fight, but they have no idea how long this fight will take and our help just might lighten their load.
I decided to set up this GoFundMe page after a recent chat with Charli – she was telling me Kobi loved his job and was working every chance he got, saving up to buy a Quad Bike.
Everything inside me wants to help this gorgeous boy get the Quad Bike of his choice, to enjoy when he recovers!
Please, if you can, donate, so Kobi can get his Quad Bike
Charli & Taylor thank everyone for there support so far
