On Friday, April 10th, KJ developed a cough that continued through the weekend. By Sunday evening, KJ was struggling to breathe, and a nebulizer treatment provided little relief. On Monday, he was taken to the Round Valley Indian Health Clinic, where he was diagnosed with asthma and an ear infection, then sent home to rest and be monitored. Later that day, Morrgin took him to Howard Memorial, where doctors determined KJ was in respiratory failure. He was given life-saving medications to help him breathe and was quickly transferred to Children’s Hospital Oakland for specialized care.
KJ is still in the hospital, receiving treatment and support. The family now faces the challenge of traveling back and forth to Oakland, which is a long journey from home. Both Kyle and Morrgin have jobs, and missing work to be by KJ’s side adds to the financial strain. The costs of travel, time away from work, and other unexpected expenses are quickly adding up.
This fundraiser will help cover those costs so the family can focus on KJ’s recovery without worrying about finances. Anything helps! Please support this family as they care for KJ during this difficult time.
