It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the passing of someone who meant the world to so many of us. I feel truly lucky to have known Lenny—“Papa”—for most of my life. The memories and many adventures our families shared together are some of the best times of our lives. We will always cherish the time we had together.

Lenny was one of those rare people you just never forget. He had a way of making everyone feel comfortable, welcome, and cared for without even trying. He was kind in the most genuine way, funny without forcing it—his smile made you smile, whether it was through a quiet joke, a story, or simply by being there. Being around him always felt like home. He had this quiet way of showing up for people that made you feel like you mattered.

He wasn’t just an amazing father, Papa, or friend—he was an incredible human being. And losing him has left a space in our hearts that can’t be filled.

Those of us who know Kiona and Mike know how deeply they love and care for the people in their lives. They are the kind of people who show up without being asked, who give even when it’s hard, and who put others before themselves time and time again. And over the past few months, that’s exactly what they did. They stayed right by Lenny’s side as he fought stage 4 cancer with so much strength. They spent countless hours caring for him, going back and forth to the hospital, and doing everything they could to make sure he wasn’t alone. In the process, they had to miss a lot of work, all while carrying the heartbreak of watching someone they love go through so much.

Now, as they begin to walk this life without him, they’re also facing the financial strain that came with that time away from work, along with funeral expenses and other ongoing costs. We want to do whatever we can to help ease that burden so they can focus on grieving, healing, and being there for each other and their children—just like they’ve always done for everyone else.
