Last week, a sudden and tragic accident took Andrew, the beloved partner of my best friend Kimberly and father to their 6-year-old son, Patrick. For nearly 17 years, Kimberly and Andrew built a life together, and Andrew’s service in the army—including a 10-month deployment in Qatar—was a testament to his dedication to his family and country. He leaves behind his parents, two brothers, countless friends, and most importantly, Kimberly and Patrick, who are now facing a future without him.

Watching Kimberly navigate this loss has been heartbreaking. She is now left to raise Patrick on her own, all while trying to process the immense grief and figure out a new reality for her family. The financial strain has only added to the challenges, as Kimberly has had to take time off work to cope with this tragedy. With the holidays approaching, I wanted to do something to help ease some of the burden she now faces alone.

This fundraiser is to support Kimberly and Patrick with living expenses such as rent and utilities, and to provide general financial support as they adjust to life as a family of two.
