Hi, my name is Jamie, and I am Kim Newton’s sister. I am creating this fundraiser on her behalf and with her permission.

On December 1, 2025, our family was shattered by the sudden and unexpected passing of Alex Newton—a devoted husband to Kim and an incredibly proud, loving father to their children, Logan and Aniya.

Alex was the kind of person who found joy in life’s little moments. He was the family chef, the king of naps, and the reason I somehow knew about every Tom MacDonald song within minutes of it being released.

He loved deeply, laughed fully, and showed up every day for his family. From what I have personally witnessed over the years—and from everything shared in the weeks since—Alex was truly an exceptional husband and father.

In the wake of this unimaginable loss, many friends, family members, and loved ones have reached out asking how they can help beyond the meal train. While nothing can take away the pain of losing Alex, this fundraiser is meant to help ease the financial weight now placed on Kim and the kids during a time when they should be able to focus on grieving and healing.

Funds raised will help cover:

Unexpected medical bills

Funeral and memorial expenses

Loss of income

Household and daily living expenses as Kim, Logan, and Aniya learn how to navigate life without Alex.

Every cent raised will go directly to Kim and the children. My goal is to help ensure they are protected and supported for the next few months as they take the first steps forward in Alex’s absence.

Living out of state, I’ve struggled with feeling helpless and unable to physically be there for them. Creating this fundraiser is one way I can stand beside them and allow others to do the same.
