My stepsister Kim Brooks has always been a strong and independent person, but over the past year, she has faced a series of neurological issues that have made everyday life incredibly challenging. These issues have affected her motor skills, her speech, and her ability to walk. Despite seeing many doctors and specialists, and even traveling to Boston in search of answers, Kim still does not have a clear diagnosis or solution. The uncertainty and ongoing symptoms have taken a toll on her physically and emotionally, but she continues to fight for her health every day.

Now, Kim is facing another difficult hurdle. She will be out of work for over a month as she undergoes extensive testing in the coming weeks, including procedures that require her to be sedated three times a week. During this time, her husband’s disability check is not enough to cover all of their bills and living expenses. The financial strain is adding to the stress of an already overwhelming situation, and they are worried about how they will manage until Kim can return to work.
