This GoFundMe has been created to support my older brother, Kevin, his wife Stacy, and their two daughters, Emma and Cate, as Kevin begins his recovery from a recent stroke.
On April 11, 2026, Kevin experienced a sudden medical emergency and suffered a stroke. He was airlifted from his home in Bellingham to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he has remained under close care. While he initially began making progress, a CT scan revealed a buildup of fluid on his brain, leading to further complications.
Kevin’s medical history adds another layer to this challenge. In 1999, he had a brain tumor removed and a shunt placed to help regulate fluid levels on his brain. With this recent stroke, doctors discovered that the shunt—now over two decades old—needed to be replaced. That surgery took place on April 24, 2026, and doctors are continuing to monitor him closely as they work to determine the next steps in his care. Kevin is currently in the ICU as they focus on reducing the fluid and stabilizing his condition.
Kevin is, at his core, a devoted “girl dad” in every sense of the word. He is deeply involved in Emma and Cate’s lives—always showing up, cheering them on, and supporting them in everything they do. Whether it’s school activities, after-school events, or everyday moments, Kevin is there. He is an amazing human being who truly adores his girls and pours his heart into being present for them.
Emma is currently in her senior year of high school, preparing to graduate and head off to college, while Cate, 13, is getting ready to begin high school herself. These major milestones make this time especially important for both of them to have their dad’s love, guidance, and support close by.
During this time, Kevin is unable to work, and Stacy has taken a leave from her job so she can be by his side. She has been making the long drive from Bellingham to Seattle every day, while Emma and Cate are balancing school, home responsibilities, and visits to see their dad whenever possible. Even in the midst of a medical emergency, everyday life continues—bills still need to be paid, routines still need to be managed, and the weight of it all adds up quickly for their family.
We are hoping this GoFundMe can help ease some of the financial stress they are facing during this incredibly difficult time, any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this page, means so much to our family.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
