Hi Friends. I'm Matt, Kevin's longtime friend. He's been hurting for many years and is reaching out for help. Please read his message below and assist if you can:

This is an extremely difficult thing to be open with, and asking for help is difficult for me. I've been battling PTSD from physical, emotional and medical abuse for over 30+ years. Recently it has taken hold of me and won't let go.

I've tried for a long time to cover it up. Hide from it. As well as multiple attempts at different types of professional help.

Recently I have been enrolled in an outpatient treatment program. The program has been a positive experience, but I have a lot more work to do.

The program is eight hours a day and intensive. During this time, I am unable to work and have been exhausting every venue to pay for this treatment, which has become more expensive than I imagined.

I am trying to focus on my mental health and alleviate some of the hurt and damage of the past.

Like I said, this is a difficult and embarrassing situation for me to be in. Asking for help, financially, even more so. If I take anything away from this experience it is the knowledge that I am not alone. And if you are going through a similar situation, my hope is you realize neither are you.
