2020 has been a rough year for everyone. With many people losing their jobs it hard to ask for help. 2020 started off very promising for my girlfriend. She landed her dream job and was hired with the Hawai'i Police Department. She was all set to begin her training with the academy when days before the academy started she found out she had Thyroid cancer. At 29 years old this was a complete shock to us both but also a relief. A relief because prior to her diagnosis, there were days she wasn't feeling herself. Some days she just didn't want to get out of bed which was not normal for her. There was also relief that she was diagnosed in the early stages and that she is so young and otherwise healthy. Unfortunately with her diagnosis her dream job was put on hold. Luckily she was able to go back to her old job, but with a pay cut that she depended on. Prior to leaving this job and starting her dream job, she used all her vacation and sick time (use it or lose it) unknowing what was to come. She's lost a lot in pay due to having to take time off for her Thyroid surgery where her Thyroid was removed and needed time to recover and again when she needed to do her radiation treatment and needed to be in isolation for a few weeks. She's been trying to stay afloat and be positive but the mounting medical bills she's incurred has been a big stress. I'm not one to ask for help but right now she could really use some help. Any bit helps and would be very much appreciated during this stressful time.
