Support for Keocia Walker & Bailey Watkins

As many friends and family of Keocia and Bailey know, they were expecting their first child together, a beautiful baby girl whose name is Kamilla Jayde Watkins. Last week, Keocia began experiencing some pregnancy complications at 21 weeks gestation. They entered care in Greenville Memorial Hospital for surveillance and help on July 10th, as Keocia began experiencing what is known as preterm labor. The circumstances around this complication made it difficult to intervene and save Kamilla Jayde, and on July 11th at 3:29 am she passed away as she peacefully entered the world. There was nothing done or not done that caused this complication to happen to Keocia and Bailey. Kamilla's lungs were not yet developed enough to breath outside the womb or accept help from medical interventions. She is beautifully and fearfully and wonderfully made, and was only apart of this earthly life for a short time, but she made a lasting impact on so many people. She is a person, a baby, that has been lost to Keocia and Bailey, and everyone in their life is grieving her passing.

Preterm labor and the loss of a beloved child is an experience that most parents will grieve for a lifetime. The potential medical bills, funeral arrangements, and work leave can pile on- on top of a mountain of grief, and so this page has been formed with the parents permission, to allow people who love them the opportunity to help them financially. Any gift amount will help soften these burdens, and all proceeds will go to the couple.
