Ken Cissell, Associate Director of Food & Nutrition Services at Christian Hospital, has been a co-worker friend of mine for over a decade. Ken is known for his dedication to his work and his kindness toward everyone he meets. He and his wife Roberta have always been there for their family and community, but now they are facing an unimaginable tragedy.

Recently, Ken and his family suffered a devastating home fire that resulted in a total loss of their house and everything inside. Ken and Roberta managed to escape with Ken's oldest son under medical treatment. Tragically, three children— Ken's 12-year-old foster daughter from his first wife; Roberta's 18-year-old daughter; and the daughter's 19-year-old boyfriend—were unable to escape and lost their lives in the fire. The heartbreak and loss are overwhelming, and the family is now left to navigate the difficult road ahead.

As a result of this tragedy, Ken and Roberta are facing numerous immediate financial needs. The funds raised will help cover medical care, funeral expenses for the three children, temporary housing costs, clothing, toiletries, food, and other essential provisions as they work to rebuild their lives.
