Honoring Mark Hall

My name is Sandra Gunn, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my lifelong friend and neighbour, Kelsey, and her six-year-old daughter, Camryn.

Just ten days after celebrating Camryn’s 6th birthday, their world was turned upside down when her dad, Mark Hall, was in a terrible car accident. Mark suffered severe brain injuries and is now in the hospital on life support. Doctors have determined that Mark will not recover from his injuries, and this tragedy has left Kelsey and Camryn facing the unimaginable.

Mark has always been the heart of their family: a devoted and loving partner to Kelsey for 13 years, and a proud, hands-on dad to Camryn. He loved being known as a “girl dad,” taking Camryn on daddy-daughter dates, cheering her on at dance recitals, and embracing every moment of being a father to his little girl. His warm, generous spirit extended far beyond his family. Mark was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, always the first to help a friend move, lend a hand with a project, or simply be there when someone was going through a tough time.

He brought that same joy and dedication to his role as the family’s primary provider, working hard not just to support Kelsey and Camryn, but to build the kind of life where love and laughter filled their home every day.

Now, as Kelsey spends her days at the hospital, trying to stay strong for Camryn while navigating this painful reality, she’s also facing the difficult challenge of managing life without Mark: from the financial strain of losing his income to the heartbreak of no longer having the solid partner she could count on to co-parent, share adventures, and build a future with.

Donations will help ease the immediate burden over the coming weeks and months by covering household bills, childcare, travel costs to and from the hospital, and the many unforeseen expenses that come with such a heartbreaking situation.

Kelsey is one of the strongest, kindest people I know, but she cannot carry this alone. With our love and support, she can focus on being present for Camryn and honouring Mark in the days ahead.
