Kelly Jenkins and I became friends four years ago when our children started school together. Around that same time, Kelly received the life-changing diagnosis of cancer. From that moment on, everything changed for her and her family.

Kelly was no longer able to work, and her days quickly became filled with doctor’s appointments, treatments, and multiple surgeries. Despite the physical and emotional toll, she has faced every obstacle with incredible strength, grace, and resilience. Still, the journey has been anything but easy for Kelly or those who love her. In addition to her own medical battles, she has also navigated numerous appointments and surgeries for her youngest son, Isaac.

Recently, their situation has grown even more difficult. Kelly’s husband has had to take time away from work to care for her, leaving the family with one income while medical bills continue to grow. Together, they are raising two sons—ages 6 and 23—and doing everything they can to provide stability during an uncertain time. The weight of the future, especially for their youngest son, is something they carry every day.

Kelly and her family have been a devoted part of the Fairview community for many years. They love this community and have always shown up for others. Now, they need us.
