My name is Drew Hendrix, and I am raising funds to help cover end of life cost for my mom, Kelly Hendrix, as well as temporary housing and basic living support as I transition into taking over our life responsibilities during this incredibly difficult time.

In late March 2025, our world changed. My mom was diagnosed with oral cancer, the very same week we lost Kenny Hendrix. Upon learning her diagnosis, we never had the time or emotional space to fully grieve or even hold a proper celebration of life for Kenny. We were thrown immediately into survival mode, doctor appointments, hospital visits, and constant worry. while still carrying the weight of fresh loss.

A few months later, she underwent major jaw reconstruction surgery to remove the cancer. For a moment, it felt like hope was returning. she was healing well, her strength was slowly coming back, and we were preparing for the next steps of chemo/radiation and immunotherapy.

But life took a painful turn. The cancer progressed faster and more aggressively than anyone expected. It began affecting her face on the surface level, and we were suddenly faced with a stage 4 diagnosis. My mom was already fragile from everything she had been through, and the doctors told us she was too weak to undergo treatment. Even then, she fought with everything she had. She never gave up. She was strong until the very end.

Sadly, my mom lost her battle. one she faced with courage, humor, resilience, and love.

Anyone who knew Kelly knows how deeply she cared for others. She always put her family first, even at the cost of her own health. She was the kind of person who showed up for everyone, who went above and beyond, who held our family together with her strength and her heart. She was a warrior in every sense, and she continues to inspire me every single day.

Her legacy continues through Drew and Erik Hendrix, who are carrying forward the same strength, compassion, and determination she showed us all.

With her passing, I am doing my best to keep everything together while navigating grief, responsibilities, and major life changes. The funds raised will go directly towards
