Our dear friends, Kelle and Mike, are facing some extraordinary challenges at the moment.

At the end of June 2023, Kelle had a large ovarian tumour removed via c-section, along with her left ovary and fallopian tube.

This was an emergency procedure at a private hospital as she had been dismissed without proper investigation from a public hospital.

Although Kelle had some private health insurance, it did not cover all costs and left Kelle & Mike with a $6000 bill.

They soon had the news that the 21cm tumour was part malignant and had ruptured.

Nothing since then has been black and white. At the time, and throughout the remainder of 2023, no more cancer was found in her body, these discoveries were at the price of costly scans and specialist appointments.

Unfortunately, this month, it has been discovered that the tumour has returned and the doctors have recommended that Kelle have completion surgery within the month.

This is particularly heartbreaking as Kelle and Mike’s dream of having children now seems to be out of reach.

Emotionally and physically, this has been a lot to take. Within a few weeks, Kelle will face major abdominal surgery again, with the added layer of processing the loss of her fertility and ongoing treatment.

Over recent years, Mike has had his own health issues with a workplace injury affecting his wrist, and vocal cord problems that have limited his capacity to work in his trained field.

Through this GoFundMe campaign, we aim to provide support in the face of these burdens and heartache.
