Support for Keith Harrison

Hello, my name is Kristyn Eldert, I am Keith Harrison's fiance.

On 9/3/2023 Keith suffered a stroke while we were at a Dance Gavin Dance concert. He was rushed to a hospital in Denver & then air lifted to Lutheran Hospital & brought straight into emergency surgery to remove a large blood clot from his brain. Still unknown what may have caused the clot. In that moment no one was quite sure of what extent of recovery that he would need or how bad his condition was. When they took him off sedation there was slight weakness to his right side and no speech. Within the first 24 hours after sedation he was already taking a walk around the ICU floor with just about no help & able to get a handful of words or letters out. Wednesday 9/6 he was moved to a general room at Lutheran were we began to go over what our next steps for recovery would be.

He was transferred to a Physical/Speech Therapy Hospital Saturday 9/9. He was receiving Physical therapy, Occupational therapy & aggressive Speech therapy when we first arrived.

Now, a week & a half later he has been deemed "independent" meaning he doesn't need any extra physical therapy so we can focus on just speech therapy. He has been constantly impressing everyone he meets. His speech therapist is blown away at his progress. Coming in on his first day of therapy only being able to say a few letters, words & sounds to being able to get out small sentences & more than a dozen words 5 days later. Keith is extremely motivated and in a great positive mindset. As of 9/17 he will be able to finally come home & continue his speech therapy as an outpatient. I couldn't be more excited to have him back home.

The reason I'm making this to insure that we are able to get all our bills paid, get groceries & any extra medical expenses that insurance won't cover. I'm the only one working & we are still waiting to hear anything about pay for Keith while he is on medical leave but we are aware that he will not be getting much. I unfortunately don't make enough to cover rent on my own after paying my few bills. I really hate to have to do this & ask people for money.
