On September 1, 2024, Jaclyn woke up to the devastating news that her water had broken prematurely. In a whirlwind of emotions, Kegan and Jaclyn rushed to Canon City Hospital, where doctors immediately began administering magnesium to try to halt the labor and steroids to help their babies grow stronger.
Despite their best efforts, Jaclyn was medi-flighted to Colorado Springs just a few hours later, as her condition required more specialized care. On September 5, 2024, their precious twins arrived at just 24 weeks gestation, far earlier than expected. Gabriel Leroy, a delicate little soul weighing just 9 ounces and measuring 10.5 inches long, was born too soon to stay with us. He was with us for about 45 minutes before he went home to Jesus. Gabriel’s short time with us has left a deep imprint on our hearts, and we are coming together to support Kegan and Jaclyn during this profoundly difficult time.
Mikhail Ralph (pronounced Muh-Kyle), born weighing 1 lb 4 oz and measuring just under 12 inches long, is continuing his fight for life. After spending 5 days in the NICU in Colorado Springs, Mikhail was airlifted to Denver Children's Hospital due to a small tear in his intestines. He now faces a possible surgery and ongoing care to help him grow stronger.
Jaclyn is healing well from her C-section, and we are deeply grateful for the medical care she has received. We are praying for God’s sustaining grace and healing for Mikhail, and we feel God’s peace and comforting arms surrounding us during this challenging time. Your prayers and support mean the world to us, and we are profoundly grateful for each and every one of you.
While Kegan and Jaclyn have good insurance, the emotional and financial burdens of this journey are still immense. The costs of Mikhail’s ongoing care, including the NICU stay, the medi-flight to Denver, and the upcoming surgery, along with other unforeseen needs, create a significant financial strain. Additionally, being far from home means incurring living expenses for their extended stay in Denver.
We are setting up this GoFundMe to help alleviate some of these unexpected costs and to support Kegan and Jaclyn as they focus on their son’s recovery and their own healing. Funds raised will help cover not only medical expenses but also living expenses while they are away from home. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in helping them through this challenging time. Your generosity will help ease the financial burden of unforeseen needs and support them during this difficult period.
We deeply appreciate your support, prayers, and positive thoughts for Kegan, Jaclyn, and their family. Your kindness and compassion provide immense comfort, and we are truly grateful for all the love and support.
Thank you for standing by them and offering hope during these dark days.
With heartfelt gratitude,
