Dear friends, family, and community,
Life can change in a single moment, and today I come to you with a very heavy heart. On Wednesday, 24th September 2025, Kazeem Olawale Aremu tragically passed away while on a family holiday in Bulgaria.
While enjoying time with his children at the beach, the tide suddenly grew strong and pulled two of his children far out to sea..
In true fashion hero-like, selfless, courageous, and loving Kazeem that we all know….he went to save them.
He managed to rescue his son and daughter with the help of a passerby, but in the process, he lost his own life.
Kazeem was more than just a friend, brother, husband, and father. He was a light in every room, the kind of person who always made others laugh and feel seen. He leaves behind his loving wife, Joanna, and their five beautiful children.
As a community, this is our chance to do what Kazeem did best….to show love, compassion, and support.
We have created a GoFundMe page to support his wife and children during this unimaginably difficult time.
Funds raised will go directly towards supporting his family with daily needs and ensuring they have stability as they navigate life after this painful loss.
Kazeem gave his life to save his children. Now we can honour his sacrifice by standing together to support the family he loved so deeply.
No donation is too small. Every single contribution makes a difference. And if you can’t give, please share this message so others can. Together, we can ensure that his legacy of love and courage lives on through the family he cherished.
Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers. May Kazeem’s soul rest in peace, and may his family feel the strength of our community around them.
Kazeem Aremu, he died a true hero

A message from Joanna -
I am fundraising with our son Cody.
The funds raised will be used to pay for my husbands funeral, we will use the remainder of the funds to pay our bills until we sell our house as we are unable to keep it unless we clear the mortgage as it was in my late husbands name I also plan to pay for therapy for my children. I plan to keep a small amount back as i would like to do something with each of the children once our lives settle. We would also like to take Kaz's ashes to Nigeria next year and would love to be able to show my children where their fathers roots. I am now a single parent and any support will help take the pressure off whilst we work through this sudden change in our lives. Thank you again for your support and generosity.
