Our family is facing an unimaginable loss. My sister-in-law, Kayla, recently suffered a tragic event and is now in the hospital with no brain activity. This has been devastating for everyone who knows and loves her, but especially for her three sons, Alex, Christian, and Andre. Six years ago, the boys lost their father, and now they are facing the heartbreaking loss of their mother as well. No child should have to experience this kind of grief, let alone twice.

Kayla was a beautiful person inside and out. She had a big heart and loved her children more than anything in the world. Even in this heartbreaking time, Kayla’s kindness continues to shine through. She made the selfless decision during her life to become an organ donor, meaning that even in passing, she will be giving the gift of life to others.

As her children begin to face life without both of their parents, they are also dealing with the financial burden that comes with funeral arrangements and the many unexpected expenses that follow such a sudden loss.
