She wanted cake but instead she got cancer......

Time to get serious, on her 32nd birthday our friend Kaya was taken to hospital where they discovered a 12.5cm tumour on her liver. Further testing in the following days discovered a further 5 smaller tumours in her lungs and ultimately led to a diagnosis of Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma - terminal. No news that anyone wants to hear, but especially a young mumma in the prime of her life that is already battling two separate autoimmune diseases. 

At a time where she should be planning her wedding to her amazing fiance Chris, having her hens party and enjoying watching her beautiful 20 month old daughter Scarlett grow up, she is now entering the fight of her life. Kaya's friends have come together to do some fundraising and ease the financial pressure. Money can't buy time, but it can certainly make the time you have a lot easier. Kaya lost her twin brother Joel to cancer at the age of 15, so this diagnosis hits extra hard for her family and was definitely not expected. 

The prognosis isn't ideal; with treatment Kaya may have between 6-18 months. But in her own words, she's a human cockroach and she will definitely be putting up a fight. 

In the coming days we will be organising fundraisers, auctions, community days and flooding social media with this Go Fund Me page to raise as much money as possible to help Kaya in her time of need.
