Hi everyone,
I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but our family is going through a really heavy time right now.
My grandma Kathy recently suffered a hemorrhagic stroke last month and was in the ICU. She was later moved to rehab, but while there she went into cardiac arrest. She is now back in the ICU on a ventilator, and we are just trying to keep her stable and as comfortable as possible. She’s still with us, but she’s barely hanging on. Watching someone you love go through this is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. We’re taking things moment by moment and just trying to be there for her as much as we can.
It’s really hard to put into words what Kathy means to us. She’s been the heart of our family—someone who loved deeply, gave endlessly, and never asked for anything in return. She was the one you went to for comfort, for strength, for love.
Watching her like this doesn’t feel real. It hurts in a way that’s hard to explain.
My uncle Sean has been her main caregiver, staying by her side around the clock and doing everything he can to take care of her. My mom, Michele, has also been there every step of the way, showing up with the same love and strength that my grandma Kathy gave all of us growing up.
This is what she built—people who love hard and show up when it matters most.
Because of this,my uncle Sean has had to take time off work, and with everything happening so suddenly, the financial stress is starting to build. This fundraiser is to help cover the time he’s missing from work so he can stay with her, future medical bills from the hospital and rehab facility and funeral expenses.
If you knew my grandma Kathy, you know how special she is. Right now, we just want to give her the peace, comfort, and dignity she deserves in her final days.
Any donation, no matter how small, truly means more than we can put into words. If you’re not able to give, sharing this or keeping our family in your prayers means just as much.
This has been one of the hardest things we’ve ever gone through. Please hold your loved ones a little closer.
Thank you so much for your support.
