Friends!

 

Out of the blue, my dear sister Kathryn was diagnosed with brain cancer... and she has to get surgery in less than a month! The tumor is a low-grade cancer and treatable, and the prognosis is good, but she could really use help with hotel expenses in Houston (~$1500), out-of-pocket medical expenses for testing and the surgery (~$6000), boarding her feline overlords (~$500), and lost income due to extended disability (~$4000). Although we told her we'd get the tumor out for free with a sharp kitchen knife and a fifth of whiskey (not sure if the whiskey is for her or for us), she politely declined and is going the professional route.

 

Fun fact about Kathryn -- she's one of a very few handful of people who helped me through the darkest time in my life... and has been a source of love and support for Adalyn. She's got a good heart. If you've got $20 you can spare, this would be a good way to spend it.
