Support for Kathleen Seacrest and Austin Brose House Fire

On the evening of February 14th, 2025 a faulty furnace gas leak caused the bottom half of my mothers home in Hayesville, Nc to immediately catch fire. The fire spread quickly engulfing and destroying the entire property.

My mother and my cousin who was present at the time were able to escape safely but were unable to bring any belongings at all. Her phone, laptop and psychological testing supplies were lost in the fire and are essential for her to continue working and stay employed.

This was my childhood home, this home was built by my grandfather, he and my grandmother lived and passed away here, my father lived and passed away here, his lifelong collection of musical instruments was lost in this home. The replaceable items lost pale in comparison to the irreplaceable history and significance of what this residence means in my mother’s life and my own.

We’re not a family that is accustomed to asking for help throughout life’s hardships but this unprecedented loss has completely confronted us with difficulties we’re not familiar with dealing with. We’re asking that anyone who is able to help would truly be a blessing with this current situation.

My mother is safe and being housed by a very dear friend in the area. She’s keeping remarkably high spirits throughout this and for that I’m endlessly thankful. I am safe at my residence in New York.
