On October 15th, my beautiful niece Katherine (Ktee) was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that left her with severe trauma to multiple areas of her body. The injuries were so significant that she had to be airlifted to Froedtert Hospital for emergency care, including an initial surgery that lasted more than eight hours to reconstruct multiple areas on the left side of her body. Thankfully, she is still with us today, as the importance of wearing a helmet while riding has been ingrained into her mind. In addition, the individuals on scene as the accident happened started life-saving measures to keep her with us. With the possibility of more treatment and/or surgeries to come, Katherine faces a long road to recovery.
Katherine is a dedicated mother to two young children, ages eight and five. As she focuses on healing, she will worry about how to keep her family afloat, as her babies are her number one priority. The accident has created a mountain of medical bills and will make it impossible for her to work for an extended period of time, leaving her struggling to cover living expenses and provide for her kids.
She is also a loving sister, a thoughtful daughter, and a hardworking, independent woman who rarely asks for help. Even now, she's stubborn and will find it difficult to reach out, but we can all come together and show her that she has a loving community of family, friends, and even clients that are here to support her in her time of need.
Any support will go directly to Katherine to use toward her medical bills, living expenses, and caring for her children as she works toward getting back on her feet.
