On August 20th, my beloved sister Carrie passed away after a sudden and devastating illness that led to multi-organ failure. Just nine days prior, she was with us—healthy, laughing, loving, and full of life. Her decline was rapid and heartbreaking, and now, her daughter Karson is facing the unimaginable: life without her mom.
Karson is 18 years old and set to begin her college journey at the University of Oregon in just a few weeks—something Carrie was incredibly proud of. She often said Karson was the best part of her life, and she meant it with every fiber of her being.
As Karson grieves this profound loss, I want to do everything I can to make sure she feels supported—not only emotionally, but also practically. This fundraiser is to help:
- Cover funeral and memorial expenses for Carrie
- Assist with any expenses associated with Carrie’s affairs including medical bills
- Support Karson as she transitions to college life. This Includes funds toward Karson's cost of attendance as Carrie's unfortunate and sudden passing impacts Karson’s financial aid
- Help with ongoing living expenses for Karson as she navigates this new chapter without her mom
