Support for Karissas cancer fight
Donation protected
My name is Madeleine, and I am raising funds on behalf of my Aunt Karissa who has been fighting an ongoing and aggressive cancer battle.
In 2020 Karissa was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, she was just 31 years old, a new mother with a brand new baby. That same year Karissa had her first surgery to remove part of her femur and at that time it was discovered she had cancerous nodules on her lungs. The cancer in her lungs became advanced which required her to have a thoracotomy removing part of her lung. Karissa has had multiple surgeries, she has done chemotherapy and several rounds of radiation to try to survive a quick growing and aggressive cancer that has an extremely low survival rate. She has one tumor behind her heart that is inoperable. She has attempted a clinical trial but it was unsuccessful.
Last October, she lost her father suddenly within 10 weeks as he was diagnosed with an aggressive stomach cancer. It was especially tragic because not only was he her loving father but he was such a big part of her care giving, driving her to treatments at the hospital only to succumb to cancer as he watched his daughter battle it herself.
Due to the effects of cancer and her prognosis, she is no longer able to work and requires ongoing care which makes it incredibly difficult financially for the family. Her husband has been tirelessly working 3 jobs to try and provide for them while still caring for her and their child as much as he can. The bills keep coming and it’s been a struggle to stay afloat.
She is vibrant, smart, gentle, kind and a wonderful mother and friend. Somehow through her pain she has always shown up for us and for her son, never complaining. This is our chance to show up for her, with the help of anyone who is willing to contribute.
Your gracious donations to Karissa‘s go fund me will provide funds to support their family during this difficult and uncertain time as well as the ongoing costs from treatments. If you cannot donate, your prayers and kind words are powerful and welcomed.
Thank you ♥️
