Help! My name is Bailey Zimmerle, I am co-organizing a fundraiser to support a colleague in a time of tragedy.
Our beloved Southwest Florida Outreach Coordinator, Karen McGinnis, suffered a personal tragedy on Thursday, May 19. Karen lost her home to a fire. Karen's son sustained injuries and is recovering at Tampa General Hospital.
For those of you who haven’t had the immense pleasure of working with Karen - you are missing out! Karen has been with American Addiction Centers since 2019. She is an Outreach Coordinator in the greater Tampa Bay area.
Karen's manager, Maggie, has been working in this field for over a decade and can say without hesitation that Karen is the most passionate, driven, and caring person that she has ever worked with. Karen believes that helping those suffering from the disease of addiction is a calling and is truly her passion. Karen is proudly in Recovery and doesn’t waste a single moment of that gift. Anyone extending a hand for help is met by Karen in return... now it is time for us to do the same for her.
The fire took everything, and her home is completely destroyed. Material things can be replaced, but the sacrifice it took to obtain them, and the memories associated are irreplaceable.
Our hope is that we can help Karen find some comfort while she rebuilds. We are asking you to donate, if you can, to support Karen, no amount is too small. We would like to assist Karen and her family with temporary housing while she works to put the pieces back together.
