Joshua Gilliam, known as Kane, is a hardworking man who has always provided for his family. He works for my husband’s employer and my husband got the call today from his supervisor telling him what happened. I have since been in contact with his wife. Yesterday, while on the job, Kane suffered a devastating fall from a ladder. The injuries he sustained are severe—he has a broken pelvis, fractured sternum, ribs, and spine, and even tore his aorta. He was rushed by life flight to Vanderbilt and is now in the ICU, facing a long and uncertain road to recovery.
Kane’s wife, who is disabled with CIDP/Guillain-Barré, and their level 2 autistic daughter depend on him for everything. With Kane in the hospital, his wife is left to care for their daughter alone. She cannot work due to her own health, and they do not have a working vehicle, making this situation even more overwhelming. She is unable to be at the hospital with Kane because she must stay home to care for their daughter. The family is now facing mounting bills—rent, food, daily necessities, and soon, a mountain of medical expenses.
This is every family’s worst nightmare. My heart breaks for them, and I can only imagine the stress and fear they are feeling right now. If anyone at all can contribute to help Kane’s family, it would mean the world. They have very limited support around them, and every bit of help will go directly to easing their burden. Thank you for considering a donation to support this family in their time of need.
