What started as an ordinary day quickly turned into an unimaginable experience when Shelbee unexpectedly delivered her twin boys, Kane and Kallan, at just 31 weeks and 2 days gestation on the side of the road while trying to reach the hospital.
After their emergency arrival, both boys were airlifted to a NICU equipped to care for premature infants. While they are fighters and continue making progress every day, the journey has been far from easy.
Kane is working hard to gain weight, regulate his temperature, and master feedings. Kallan has faced additional challenges, including weight loss, difficulty maintaining his temperature, and complications from an IV infiltration that has required wound care and treatment. Despite these setbacks, both boys continue to show incredible strength.
As any NICU parent knows, one of the hardest parts is leaving the hospital each night without your babies. Along with the emotional toll comes a growing financial burden. Shelbee and her family have already spent nearly $3,000 in just over a week on hotels, meals, gas, and travel while staying close to their sons. They are also navigating insurance challenges while waiting for approval to transfer the boys closer to home.
We are asking for help to ease some of the financial stress so this family can focus on what matters most—being present for Kane and Kallan during their NICU journey.
Donations will help cover:
* Hotel accommodations near the NICU
* Meals and daily living expenses
* Gas and travel costs
* Time away from work
* Unexpected expenses associated with a prolonged NICU stay
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Kane, Kallan, and their family in your prayers.
Thank you for supporting this family as they navigate one of the most challenging seasons of their lives.
