My wife, Kaila Crawford, is the backbone of our family. She’s 41 years old and has always been the one we lean on. On December 27th, Kaila was admitted to the hospital in our hometown of Lancaster, Ohio, and soon after, she was transferred to the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. Doctors discovered a large tumor blocking her esophagus and partly restricting her airway, and they also found three other spots on her right lung. She has already undergone three iron transfusions, a gastro scope, and most recently, a PET scan that confirmed cancer. We are now waiting for the pathology report to learn exactly where the cancer has spread and how severe it is. Kaila is currently receiving inpatient care at the James Cancer Hospital, where she is undergoing further testing and possible treatment.
I travel nearly 120 miles each day between home and the hospital, trying to be by her side while also caring for our family at home. The emotional and financial toll is overwhelming, and I feel so lost at times. The hospital chaplain has visited, and Kaila is leaving the situation in God’s hands. We are doing our best to stay hopeful and strong for each other. We will need help with bills, rent, and transportation as we navigate this journey.
I am asking for prayers, thoughts, and well wishes from our friends, family, and community. Please respect our privacy and reach out to me directly for updates. Any support, whether through donations or sharing our story, would mean the world to us. Thank you for standing with us during this very trying time. Lord be with us.
