I’m creating this page to share a challenging time that my sister and her family are currently navigating. My sister is a single mother of three, and her oldest son, Kaden, has recently been diagnosed with drug-resistant epilepsy. This diagnosis, which came less than six months ago, has unfortunately led to frequent and severe seizures that have substantially impacted Kaden's daily life.

In the past recent months, Kaden has experienced very recurrent episodes of seizures, including both grand mal and focal seizures, occurring during his waking hours and while he sleeps and multiple at a time. This new reality has required extensive medical testing and frequent visits to specialists, and multiple extended hospital stays.

Due to the nature of Kaden's condition and all that has come with it, my sister has needed to take significant time off from work for medical appointments and tests, without PTO. Additionally, As Kaden’s diagnosis has worsened he now is required to get a medical detection device that is not covered by insurance, adding further substantial financial strain to their family.

As we approach the holiday season, I understand that many are facing financial constraints and all types of challenges of their own, and I genuinely appreciate any support you can offer, whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing this story with others. Every little bit helps and will contribute to making this situation a bit easier for my sister and her children.
