In August, my husband Justin was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that starts in the bile duct. He underwent a Whipple procedure, but during surgery, doctors discovered the tumor had grown and was overlapping a vital blood vessel to the liver. The surgeon had to stop the operation to avoid risking Justin’s life, and biopsies revealed the cancer had spread to his liver, lymph nodes, nodules, and colon. We were devastated by the news, especially since Justin and I had just gotten married in May. Our world changed overnight, and we are still trying to process everything while holding onto hope.
Justin will begin chemotherapy soon in hopes of stopping the spread and shrinking the tumor in his pancreas. I am home caring for him every day, helping with daily tasks and medication. With Christmas approaching and bills piling up, our family is struggling to make ends meet during this difficult time. It’s been hard to ask for help, but I know we can’t do this alone. Your support would mean the world to us as we navigate this journey together.
If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you can’t, we would be so grateful for your prayers and encouragement as we believe in hope and healing for Justin. We appreciate every bit of kindness and support, and we are grateful for our community standing with us.
