Support for Justin Campbell, Firefighter Injured off Duty
Donation protected
On Sunday, May 11, 2025, Justin Campbell was cutting a tree that had fallen outside his home. Somehow, the tree fell and struck him in the head, causing severe injuries. One of his children, who was outside at the time, ran to check on him and found him lying on the ground. The child ran to get his mom, who immediately began CPR while the child called 911. The volunteer fire department arrived and was able to help until medics arrived and were able to regain a pulse and restore his breathing. He was transported to UAB, where he is currently being treated in the Neuro ICU with serious injuries.
He was initially placed under sedation. Since being taken off the sedation, he has been able to communicate using hand signals and can move his fingers and toes — encouraging signs in his recovery.
Justin is a loving husband and father. He is a Lieutenant Firefighter with the Gadsden Fire Department, and he has always been there for others, responding to emergencies, saving lives, and protecting his community. Now it's our turn to be there for him. The Campbell family has a long road ahead. Our goal is to lessen the financial hardship. Please consider donating to help support Justin and his family during this challenging time. If you are unable to donate, please share. The family is asking for continued prayers, particularly that there is no brain swelling and that healing continues. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
