June Venzke

This fundraiser is an effort to help June and Dan Venzke with hotel and travel costs while in Houston fighting June's cancer. Because they are not admitted to the hospital, they do not qualify for free housing and are staying in hotels each week of the treatments. Between treatments, they make the 8-hour drive home to Midland and back again in 3 weeks.

June was diagnosed April 26th, 2018 with Merkel Cell Carcinoma, an aggressive and rare skin cancer. In the three weeks, it took for her admission into MD Anderson’s cancer facility in Houston, Texas, the tumors on her legs spread quickly. The hospital required extensive testing and scans to determine treatment options. The process took a week then the following week she started chemotherapy. 

With hotel, meals, and gas the average cost will be $1,000 each week. The first two weeks cost close to $3,000 with some additional one-time expenses.

With hotel at $75 to $80 a night, gas round trip $80 to $100, lunch and dinner for Dan and June $50 a day (June requires a special diet that's hard to find on the road), we think it will be around $1,000 per week. We are hoping to replace the $3,000 spent on their first trip help cover the costs of the treatments to come.
