Support for Julie and Mike Smythe

On January 7, 2022, at 28 weeks pregnant, Julie and Mike Smythe suffered an unimaginable loss when their daughter, Valentina Rae Smythe was born sleeping. Under the New Jersey Family Leave Act, Julie is entitled to time off, however, this time is unpaid. She is unable to collect pay through Family Leave Insurance as the laws states that "this time is to bond with a newborn or newly placed adoptive, or foster child, or to provide care for a seriously ill or injured loved one." The fact of the matter is, Julie went through childbirth and is still healing, in order to receive pay she'd have to return to work. Donating will relieve some of the financial stress while allowing Julie the time to heal both mentally and physically.
