My sister Julian is currently in the hospital facing a difficult battle with pneumonia, gallstones, and possibly sepsis. Because she has a traumatic brain injury (TBI), her fight is even harder than most, and every day brings new challenges. My mother has stepped away from work and is spending all her time at the hospital, trying to support Julian while also worrying about her other four children at home. The stress and worry are visible on her face, and she is doing everything she can to keep our family together during this crisis.

The support from friends and the community will help with travel expenses, comfort items for Julian, and provide some relief for my mother. With so much uncertainty and so many responsibilities, any help will make a meaningful difference. My mother doesn't know I'm doing this, but I know that every bit of support will ease her burden and help Julian focus on healing.
