Support for Julia Madrid and Baby Logan
Donation protected
Update: We are extremely grateful for all the love and support we have received over the last few months. Unfortunately Logan's health is beginning to decline and now has Chronic skin GVHD (organ rejection thru the skin). Logan had to be placed on more high doses of steroids in attempt to get this under control. His hair is also beginning to fall out which is very concerning. We are definitely not out of the woods and my sweet Logan will need more visits and more care from me. Due to Logan's condition he is not able to be out in crowded places or attend any daycares. Logan has also not been vaccinated at all so he's at a higher risk of infection. He unfortunately has contracted COVID 2x with the first time battling it for 3 months. Logan is also behind on his milestones and has different appts for therapy such as OT, PT, OTF and will start seeing speech therapy as well. With so many appointments it is extremely difficult to work a full time job and care for Logan every second to make sure he doesn't injure or have any healthy emergencies. Our family is extreme grateful for any help and or any prayers sent our way! God bless you.
This fund is for Julia Madrid and baby Logan. Our babies are both the same age. During the past few months, Logan has been receiving treatment for Wiskott Aldrich syndrome, a rare immunodeficiency that significantly reduces his ability to fight infections, often resulting in bruising, rashes and frequent viruses and low platelets including death. Logan's treatment required a bone marrow transplant for which he endured 24 rounds of chemotherapy. During these long days (and in just the first several months of his little life) he has suffered from vomiting, hives, infections, aching bones, passing blood through his mouth, fluid in his lungs, bruising, fluctuating blood counts, respiratory viruses, VOD, mucositis and water retention while his organs work over time to regulate and heal. Logan needs good days ahead! He is still needing a lot of blood transfusions and is battling other health problems. Julia stays at the hospital night and day to comfort him and to be there for critical decisions that most mothers never have to make alone. Still she remains positive. While we keep Logan in our thoughts and prayers, I'm hoping that Julia receives more tangible support for the coming long days. Logans journey is only half way and he will be immunocompromised the next year. That's why I started this GoFundMe. Please help raise money to provide them with a little bit of relief during this time. #loganstrong
