Juan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August of last year, right in the middle of chasing his dream to become a police officer. For those who don’t know him, Juan wasn’t just my cousin—he was more like an older brother. We grew up together in a big, close family, surrounded by my mom, siblings, aunts, and cousins. His determination and kindness touched everyone who knew him.

Yesterday, Juan passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Our family is heartbroken, and now we are working together to honor his memory and give him the farewell he deserves. In addition to the emotional loss, we are facing the financial burden of funeral service and cemetery fees. His wife is doing everything she can to support their two children, but these unexpected expenses are overwhelming.
