A little update - We have reached the seven-month mark since our mother, Joyce Weems', leukemia diagnosis. In April, she finished chemotherapy and advanced to weekly trips to Fargo for immunotherapy. Today, they traveled to Fargo, where she had another bone marrow biopsy, and we are praying that the immunotherapy is effectively reducing the disease. They will return to Fargo on July 21st for what we hope will be a short 3-4 day stay to start the third phase of treatment, which I believe will still require weekly trips to Fargo. Our parents have shown great resilience throughout this challenging period, and we all appreciate the continued prayers, thoughts, and support during this time.

As we gather with family and friends this week, I ask for your prayers and support for my mother, Joyce. Today marks the beginning of her chemotherapy journey after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The news came as a shock to all of us, and we're still processing the reality of it.

What began as a simple tooth infection around Thanksgiving quickly escalated. Despite receiving treatment for the infection, Joyce's health rapidly declined. By early December, she became very weak and sick, prompting us to get to the ER. After some initial tests, she was transferred by ambulance to Fargo for further testing, where they suspected leukemia. We waited anxiously for days, and on December 18th, we received the devastating diagnosis.

Currently, Joyce is working on regaining her strength so she can start treatment, but she's still weak. My family and I have been visiting as often as possible, though due to her compromised immune system, we have to take extra precautions. This is an incredibly difficult time for all of us, and many people have asked how they can help.

While we know it's a tough time of year, the costs associated with Joyce's treatment and ongoing care are already starting to add up.
