My mother, Joyce, has always been the heart of our family and community. She’s the person who listens without judgment, offers help without hesitation, and would give her last dollar to someone in need. Her kindness and generosity have touched so many lives, and now she’s facing a challenge that requires all of us to rally around her.
Joyce was recently diagnosed with hormone-based breast cancer. This news has been overwhelming for our family, but Joyce’s strength and spirit remain unshaken. She is scheduled for surgery on July 2nd, and after that, she’ll begin a series of treatments. Unfortunately, these treatments will make it difficult for her to work, and she’ll need help covering everyday bills and living expenses while she focuses on recovery.
We’re reaching out to our friends, family, and anyone moved by Joyce’s story to help support her during this difficult time. Every contribution will go directly toward her essential expenses, allowing her to heal without the added stress of financial worries. Your support means the world to us and will help Joyce continue to be the caring, generous person she’s always been.
Update: Surgery has been nearly a month ago now! Its healing well and the bruising has finally went down. She had an oncologist appointment today. The news was not great but we are claiming positivity. The doctor let her know that the mass was bigger than they originally thought. She also is Stage 2 not Stage 1 like originally thought. Her pathology results came in and she is high risk 1 which means Chemo is on the table for her to do. She has decided to do the chemo. As of right now we know that chemo treatments will be every 4 weeks. She will also be doing Radiation Therapy on top of that since the type of surgery she had requires the radiation. She has been limited on work because she is still very sore. Thank you all for the continued support! It's still a long journey ahead!
