On Sunday, November 10th, my daughter Jessica took her husband, Joshua Mataya to the hospital emergency room with what appeared to be a severe case of the flu.  He was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in his blood that has moved to his heart and ultimately to his lungs causing a severe lung infection.  He is now 100% on a ventilator and is in an induced coma.  It will take weeks before the doctors know if the antibiotics are able to penetrate the abscesses in his lungs and months for a full recovery.  While his condition is critical and life threatening, we are praying for a positive outcome.  This all came about while they were preparing to move out of state.  They had already given notice on their apartment and must vacate by month end as the landlord is unable to make an exception.  Jessica is now faced with packing their belongings, finding a place to live and possibly moving everything into storage. All while being by Josh’s side and maintaining her job. They are in dire straits financially as bills are mounting.

We have created this Go Fund Me account in hopes that it will at least help ease the financial burden of this painful time in their lives which will enable Jessica to focus more on helping her husband heal.
