Support for Josh's Spinal Injury
Donation protected
In February 2021 our son and brother Josh was involved in a serious motorcycle crash at the age of 26. His injuries included, among others, a complete spinal cord injury at the level of T5. As a result of this, Josh is now confined to a wheelchair and lives with paraplegia.
After 8 months of rehab, including the associated challenges, Josh is back living in regional Queensland and is determined to regain some independence. However, to do this he must source and purchase a suitable modern and safe motor vehicle that meets the strict standards required by the government. While the NIISQ provide some level of funding for his needs, including the necessary modifications, a car itself is one significant expense that is not met.
Josh is a caring and kind individual who prior to the accident worked in aged care and disability himself. He loves the outdoors, his Kelpie and keeping himself fit and active. A car and the ability to transport himself independently would be game-changing in his ability to pursue these passions. It would also greatly assist his journey of rehabilitation in the community.
We appreciate you taking the time to read through Josh's story, and are extremely grateful for any assistance you are able to offer by donating to this fund.
Any sharing of this page would also be greatly appreciated!
