Hello, my name is Veronica and I am beginning this fundraiser on behalf of my Sister Cassandra and her Husband Josh. Their lives came to a full stop this week.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has reached out regarding Josh's health. Here is an update on his current situation: Josh experienced breathing difficulties yesterday, prompting me to call for an ambulance to transport him to the emergency room. He was later airlifted to Albany Med, where he is now on a ventilator and resting to recover. Although he has been diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia, his condition is stable. I appreciate your continued support and well wishes for Josh's speedy recovery.

Yesterday morning, Josh was transferred to Westchester Medical Center for optimal care. He remains on a ventilator and is battling pneumonia. Additionally, his kidneys and liver are not functioning properly, and a liver transplant may be necessary. The timing of the transplant depends on the response of his kidneys to treatment. We appreciate your continued support and prayers.

Josh's health update: The good news is that his kidneys are doing better. However, the attempt to start to wean him off the ventilator was not successful. The doctors have decided to let his body continue to rest while the ventilator supports him. Keep him in your prayers!

At this time, we do know now that a liver transplant will be necessary, in the very foreseeable future. This is not a short term endeavor, as we plan for the long haul of recovery, even after the transplant.

As they face the financial burden of the situation at hand, we begin this fundraiser. She is now living in a hotel for the foreseeable future, 3 hours from home. Westchester Medical Center is located just 30 miles north of NYC. We look to help financially support her so her focus can be on Josh and not the unexpected expenditure of funds she has to now face because of the life-changing events that have occurred.

Hotels as well as meals, gas, tolls and essentials are adding up so quickly. Being so close to The City, the hotel expenditure alone, for what could be many many weeks is just one piece of the burden we can help her with. Please consider donating to help alleviate the mounting cost of just existing, far from home, with a loved one in this condition.
