Joshua Ryan, also known as Josh, Twinkle Toes or bruh, was more than just a son, brother, uncle and friend, — he was a truly remarkable person. Josh stood out from the rest for his compassion, his love for horror movies and his colorful sense of humor. The amount of love Josh had for his friends, family and even strangers, touched countless lives.
Josh had a passion for Brazilian jiu jitsu, especially when it came to passing his knowledge and discipline on to his peers and students. He also loved to make people laugh. Josh was known to go completely out of his way just to brighten someone else's day with a good joke or elbow jab. If you have never heard his infectious laugh, you have truly missed out.
On February 11th, 2026 Josh suffered a massive heart attack while he was already in the hospital waiting for an (unrelated) surgery. After being in a coma for 19 hours, we said our goodbyes, as Josh peacefully passed. The outpouring of love and support from our friends and family has been overwhelming, a testament to the impact he had on so many lives. While I, his sister, have also suffered a great loss, it is our parents, Julie and Gary, who are dealing with the unimaginable loss of their child.
I am raising funds to help my parents with navigating after-death costs. Any support you can offer during this heartbreaking time would mean so much. Your kindness will help ease the burden on our family and honor the memory of a truly extraordinary person.
